Fields of Gold

我很久以前买过一盘Eva Cassidy的CD，她的声音里有一种很奇特的吸引我的东西。后来知道她死时很年轻，她的事业还没开始就结束了。不过，死亡使她永生，我经常会无来由的想起她， 听她的歌。

今天， 我随便在网上逛， 突然看见C. S. Lewis的太太Joy Davidman的照片和故事。很奇怪， 我一下子想起了Eva。Joy Davidman是个犹太作家， 早年是无神论者， 后来信了基督。她45岁因癌症去世了。C. S. Lewis为她写了墓志铭：

Here the whole world (stars, water, air,
And field, and forest, as they were
Reflected in a single mind)
Like cast off clothes was left behind
In ashes, yet with hopes that she,
Re-born from holy poverty,
In lenten lands, hereafter may
Resume them on her Easter Day.

也许是因为墓志铭， 让我想起了Fields of Gold....
