我也来说乔老爷

一言以蔽之曰：乔老爷是个奇人。

乔老爷的身世其实有点像总统奥巴马。他亲爹是个叙利亚的留学生，穆斯林，后来成为政治学教授，亲妈是个美国人，也是研究生。好像乔老爷是未婚先育的爱情结晶，于是，就被送了人。养父母住在加州的Mountain View，正是硅谷之中心。命中注定，这可怜的小弃儿将是硅谷风险创业的传奇。

话说乔老爷在加州的Homestead High School毕业后，就读俄勒冈州波特兰里德学院。可只念一学期就因为家庭的经济原因而休学，但他仍在学校里旁听，他最感兴趣的一门课是中国书法。 后来他说： "If I had never dropped in on that single course in college, the Mac would have never had multiple typefaces or proportionally spaced fonts."

休了学的乔老爷，睡在朋友家的地板上，捡可乐瓶子卖钱，周末去当地的印度寺庙里吃免费午餐。又回到加州打工，攒够了钱后，就像唐僧一样，带着好朋友孙悟空(Daniel Kottke)，去西天取经。后来孙悟空（Daniel Kottke）成了苹果的第一个雇员。

得了真传后海龟，他剃了秃头，穿着印度袍子，开始创建苹果了。第一个项目是实验Psychedelic drug，其主要功能是alter cognition and perception。乔老爷说： "one of the two or three most important things done in life"。还说people around him who did not share his countercultural roots could not fully relate to his thinking。

乔老爷特别喜欢摇滚乐，是Bob Dylan的大粉丝。以致于向Dylan的情人Joan Baez求婚，也有人说他们其实接过婚。她比他大14岁。

他的另一个偶像就是甲壳虫了。当被问到他的商业运行模型时，他回答：

My model for business is The Beatles: They were four guys that kept each other's negative tendencies in check; they balanced each other. And the total was greater than the sum of the parts. Great things in business are not done by one person, they are done by a team of people.
